Initial Mind Map

My first starting point was creating a mind map listing all possible target markets to sell my pack-up box to:

The highlighted ideas I have a keen interest in researching and possibly developing a product to suit the target market:

  • Pregnant women
  • Vegan
  • Food intolerant
  • Elderly
  • Primary school children
When researching general food parcel deliveries, they are heavily focused on the weight loss market such as;

'My Food' giving a range of food options including gluten-free and vegetarian options which is a great selling point

There is also a vast number of elderly food package companies delivering food to elderly who are unable to shop and cook for themselves. Such as;

I also have come across a few websites with more than one target audience selling food packages dealing with more than one dietary or health and lifestyle issue:

One segment of the market that was of great interest was to provide lunch boxes for children for school dinners and to make boring, healthy foods food and cool to eat. From Googling, there is only really one apparent website providing this service:

Although this service exists, the overall packaging and selling point I think is weak. The packaging is very plain and isn't very stimulating to a young mind. This target market would be a great opportunity to invent something that not only appeals to busy mums, but also to the child who actually has to consume the end product.

The final potential target market is pregnant women, a few websites that I have come across are more focused on post-natal eating and therefore would also be a strong market to target.
